Cercis canadensis

Eastern Redbud seen flowering in my driveway. The tree is remarkable because its buds are a deep magenta and push themselves forth all along the stems of the branches, covering the tree in color. I found the below specimen Cercis canadensis 'Alba' at Winterhur.

  1. Helen,
That is one of the native trees I have never got the chance to use in a garden. I will have to come visit your garden next spring and enjoy yours!

  3. Thanks for your great comments! It is such a stunning tree and was planted before my arrival at Small Meadows Farm and so it is a nice mature specimen.
