The Wisteria at Longwood

I had a very hard time leaving England before the Wisteria buds opened especially since most Wisteria vines in New England rarely have a strong show. However, being at Longwood during the peak Wisteria bloom felt rather fortunate. There was an entire garden devoted to all the various Wisteria vines and most of them were pruned into trees! The aroma was intoxicating (but alas, without any bees?) and the fragrance in the air transported me back to my year spent in Italy.

  1. Helen,
The wisteria are enchanting. I can almost smell them from here. While in PA, if you haven't already been there, Chanticleer in Wayne, PA is a very cool garden. You will love the creativity and the plants are out of this world! Have fun!
