Vermont Spring Woods


Ahh, the woods in Vermont.


Club Moss (Lycopodium dendroideum) carpets the forest floor. Here you see it in bloom.
Correction: Apparently there are MANY different club mosses, all so very similar. AND there seems to be great debate over how they are all related. I think that this may be Diphasiastrum digitatum?


American Beech (Fagus grandifolia) hangs onto last year's leaves well into the spring.
