Kerria japonica

The day I left I took one last walk around the garden and I came across this wonderful plant in full flower. I had been admiring its buds and waiting for them to open for what seemed like weeks! It was a nice going away present. It also makes a terrific cut flower!

This stand is found flowering along the winding path passing the bulb slope.

This one is Kerria japonica 'Picta' and has a variegated leaf. It was further behind than the other ones in the garden. It had an interesting form, the stems were more crooked and bent. The shrub caught my eye every time I walked passed it.
